We use a variety of sustainably sourced solid timbers including native raw Victorian Ash, Tasmanian Oak, chestnut brown, and other woods. Each timber offers unique grain and tonal characteristics.
We don't use any engineered timbers like compressed MDF or plastic.
Yes, all of our timber photo frames are proudly handcrafted in our Sydney workshop. We’ve been making frames in Australia since 1977.
Yes. All of our timber frames include a 2 mm clear glass front to protect your image or artwork.
Yes. Each wall-ready frame includes metal D-ring fittings and real hanging wire (supplied loose), so you can choose to hang it either vertically or horizontally.
Many of our timber frame options include a double-layered, acid-free white bevel-cut mat board. You can also add a custom mat board separately if needed.
While our timber frames are only available in fixed standard sizes, we do offer custom cut-to-size mat boards. This allows you to adjust the window opening to suit your photo or artwork, while still using one of our ready-made timber frames. You can browse our custom mat board options here.
Raw oak such as our Victorian Ash, shows the natural grain and texture of the solid timber, while stained finishes like chestnut or stone ash offer a deeper tone for a different aesthetic. You can view our timber stain comparison image above.
Lighter timbers like oak work well in coastal, Scandinavian, and modern interiors, while darker finishes like chestnut are suited to traditional or rustic decor.
Yes. We only use renewable, plantation-grown timbers and recyclable components like MDF backing and glass. Even our packaging is designed with sustainability in mind.
