Dirkie Nell is a contemporary illustrator from South Africa and the artist behind Mood Forest. Working from a small home studio in Stellenbosch, she draws on the surrounding mountains and morning mist for inspiration, translating everyday scenes into bold colour and playful, poster-style compositions.

Dirkie’s artworks often celebrate flower stalls, fruit markets and nature’s simple rhythms, balancing clean shapes with upbeat palettes that sit beautifully in modern interiors. She has also created work under her second name, Lia Nell, a note that appears across her studio materials.
