FAQs about Profile Photo Frames
Our Australian-made timber photo frames are handcrafted in our Sydney workshop using quality materials and professional framing methods. These are the frames Profile Australia is best known for, and many are backed by our lifetime guarantee.
This broader photo frames collection may also include selected metal frames, acrylic photo blocks and specialty frame styles that are made to different specifications. Where a product is Australian-made, we make this clear on the product page so you know exactly what you are choosing.
Profile Australia has been helping customers frame and display their memories since 1977, with experienced framing knowledge behind the range. You can learn more about our story on our About Us page.
The materials depend on the frame style you choose. Our Profile-branded timber photo frames are Australian made and crafted in our Sydney workshop using sustainably sourced solid timber, with quality materials chosen for long-lasting presentation.
Our Profile metal photo frames and acrylic photo blocks are imported and made to our specifications. Metal frames offer a clean, polished look for photos, certificates and everyday display, while acrylic photo blocks are designed for a modern freestanding finish.
Where a product is made from timber, metal or acrylic, we make this clear on the product page so you can choose the frame style, material and finish that best suits your photo, print or display space.
You can browse our Australian made timber photo frames, metal photo frames and acrylic photo blocks to compare the options.
Our Australian-made timber photo frames are crafted from sustainably sourced solid timber from renewable plantation sources. We choose solid timber for its quality, durability and long-lasting presentation, helping create frames that are made to be kept, not quickly replaced.
Where possible, we also consider the recyclability of frame components such as glass and backing materials, along with practical packaging choices for safe delivery. Because frames need to be protected in transit, especially when they include glass, our focus is on balancing responsible material choices with careful, damage-reducing packing.
You can learn more about our approach on our Sustainability page.
We do not currently offer custom-sized picture frames online. Instead, we offer a wide range of popular standard frame sizes, which are usually more affordable and easier to order than a fully custom frame.
If your photo, print or artwork is an unusual size, a custom cut-to-size matboard can often help you fit it neatly into a standard-sized frame. The matboard creates a clean border around your image and helps give the finished piece a more professional framed look.
If you are unsure which frame and matboard combination will suit your image, start with our photo frame size guide or contact our team before ordering.
Yes, our photo frames include suitable hanging or display hardware for the frame style and size you choose. The exact hardware can vary depending on the frame type, size and display method.
Some fittings are supplied loose rather than pre-installed, so you can choose whether to hang the frame vertically or horizontally where the frame size allows. Please check the individual product description for the exact hardware included with your chosen frame.
If you need extra hooks, hangers or related items for your wall setup, you can also browse our picture framing accessories.
If you are unsure how to hang your frame, our picture frame hanging guide walks you through the basic steps.
How you hang your picture frame depends on the frame size, weight, wall type and the hanging hardware supplied with your frame. Smaller frames are usually straightforward to hang, while larger frames may need more careful measuring, stronger wall fixings and a second person to help position the frame safely.
Before hanging, check the product description for the hardware included with your frame and choose wall fixings that are suitable for your wall surface. If you need additional hooks, hangers or framing hardware, browse our picture framing accessories.
For practical tips on height, spacing, hardware and layout, read our picture hanging guide.

Yes. If you are not sure which frame size, colour or style to choose, a Profile Australia gift voucher lets the recipient choose the photo frame, picture frame, album, matboard, wall art or gift item that suits them best.
Gift vouchers are a practical option for birthdays, weddings, housewarmings, new babies, graduations and other occasions where you want to give something thoughtful without guessing the exact product they need.
We do not currently offer non-reflective glass or specialist anti-reflective glazing options for our ready-made photo frames.
Most of our traditional photo frames include real glass for a clear, quality finish. If reflections are a concern, we recommend considering where the frame will hang and avoiding positions directly opposite strong windows, bright lamps or harsh overhead lighting.
For very large frames, selected products may use acrylic glazing instead of glass for safer handling and delivery. Please check the individual product description for the glazing included with your chosen frame.
Delivery time depends on your location in Australia, the products ordered and the time of year. As a guide, we aim to process and dispatch most orders within 1 to 3 days.
Once your order has been dispatched, transit time will depend on the delivery carrier and your location. Regional and remote areas may take longer, especially for larger or fragile items.
You can view our current delivery information on our Shipping page, or contact our team before ordering if you need something by a particular date.
We pack our photo frames carefully for delivery, especially where glass or larger frame sizes are involved. Even so, fragile items can occasionally be damaged in transit.
If your frame arrives damaged, please take clear photos of the packaging and the damaged item, then submit a request through our Claims Request Form. This helps us review the issue properly and advise the next step as quickly as possible.
You can also view our Shipping page for delivery information, or contact our team if you need help with an existing order.
